THE PRACTICE
Our Approach
Inner Western Psychology offers caring, insightful and evidence-based support for people seeking help with day-to-day challenges and more complex concerns. We help people make sense of their experiences, reduce distress, regulate emotions, improve relationships and build skills for meaningful change in daily life.
Our approach is collaborative, grounded and tailored to each person. Sessions are structured when helpful, without feeling rigid. We balance thoughtful psychological understanding with practical strategies you can use beyond the therapy room. Our aim is to make therapy feel clear, supportive and genuinely useful.
In both therapy and assessment, we focus on clarity, care and meaningful change.
FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Daniel Morrell
MPsych (Clinical), MPsych (Industrial/Organisational), MProfPsych, GradDip (Forensic Behavioural Science), BSc (Hons)
Daniel Morrell is the founding psychologist at Inner Western Psychology. He provides therapy for adolescents and adults, and assessments for children and adults. His private practice focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, reduce distress, regulate emotions, improve relationships and build practical strategies for meaningful change in day-to-day life.
Daniel works with a broad range of concerns, including trauma, depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, stress, behavioural difficulties, and longstanding emotional, relational and personality-related patterns. His approach is evidence-based, collaborative and tailored to each person. He combines thoughtful psychological understanding with practical strategies that can be applied beyond the therapy room.
With over 15 years of experience as a psychologist, Daniel brings depth, steadiness and perspective to his work. His background includes senior organisational psychology and consulting roles, government settings, and complex forensic work in prison environments. That breadth of experience informs a calm, grounded and well-formulated approach, particularly for clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed or are navigating complex and longstanding difficulties.
Clients value Daniel’s warm, thoughtful style, his ability to bring clarity to complexity, and his grounded sense of humour in therapy. He aims to provide a high-quality service that feels both professional and genuinely human, helping clients feel understood, supported and better equipped for day-to-day life.
